40 lakh tourists visit Dudhwa
Lakhimpur Kheri: Nearly 40 lakh tourists visited
the world famous Dudhwa Tiger Reserve this year which closes for tourists on
Friday.
The tourist season in Dudhwa starts from November
15 and ends on June 15 every year. According to authorites, nearly 40 lakh
tourists, including 576 from abroad, visited the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve this
year.
As per the entries in the record book by the
tourists here, they enjoyed much more tiger sighting this year than the
previous years, authorities said.
Meanwhile, at nearly 40 places crocodile nestings
have been spotted this year in Katarniaghat wildlife sanctury, Dudhwa Tiger
Reserve (DTR) field director Shailesh Prasad said.
"The number of crocodile nesting this year is
much more encouraging as for the first time, nestings in such a large number
has been spotted," he added.
