South Central Railways Southern Zone Public Time Table from July 2012

South Central Railway has released the Southern Zone Time Table which comes into effect from 01st July, offers much cheer for the Passengers of South Central Railway.  The salient features of announcement of new time table are following:

New Trains: 15 of the 75 new Mail/Express Trains announced in the Railway Budget-2012-13 will originate from S. C. Railway and another 10 would pass through this Railway. Thus, 1/3rd of the total Mail/Express trains to be introduced during the FY 2012-13 would be available for the Passengers of S. C. Railway. Allotment of such high percentage of trains for SCR has never been done in the past. These trains will be introduced in a phased manner in the current Financial Year.

Extension of Trains: Apart from New Train Services, this Time Table features the extension of 3 Originating Trains and 1 pass through Train and increase in frequency of 8 Originating / Terminating Trains and 4 pass through Trains over SCR. There will be change in the Days of operation for 5 Weekly Trains o­n SCR.

Change in the Schedule: Changes in the present schedule of timings have been effected in respect of 4 of the SCR's trains, viz.,i) Tr. No 17429 Hyderabad- Tirupathi Rayalaseema Express ii) Tr. No 12485 Nanded- Shri Ganga Sagar Express, iii) Tr. No 12732 Secunderabad - Tirupathi Express and iv) Tr. No 17415 Tirupathi - Kolhapur Haripriya Express.

Speeding up of Trains: 12 Trains have been speeded up by reducing their travel time ranging from 10 minutes to 80 minutes. Arrival / Departure Timings of some of the Trains at individual Stations have been changed in 12 cases

Change of Terminal: Change of terminal has been effected from the present Secunderabad to Kachegudafor 2 Trainsviz., - i)Tr. No 57426 Guntakal - Secunderabad Passenger andii) Tr. No 57473 Secunderabad - Bodhan Passenger.

Change in Train Number: Train Numbers of 4 Originating / Terminating Express Trains and 14 Express Trains passing through SCR have also been changed with effect from various dates in August and October.

Northern Railways Releases New Time Table Effective from 1ST JULY,2012

General Manager, Northern Railway Shri V.K. Gupta released the new train Time-Table of Northern Railway effective from 1st July 2012 at a Press Conference held at New Delhi. The salient features of the New Time Table annoucement are followings:

New Trains: Introduction of 16 new trains which includes 13 Mail/Express and 3 Passenger trains. The frequency of 8 trains has been increased and 9 Express and 4 Passenger trains have been extended for greater connectivity to farther regions.

Vigilance & Protection at Tatkal Counters: Team of Officers & Inspectors of Commercial Deptt. & Railway Protection Force(RPF) to check important Passenger Reservation System like, IRCA, Ghaziabad, Sarojini Nagar, Kadkaduma, Kirti Nagar, Hazrat Nizamuddin, New Azadpur, NOIDA & Delhi Shahadara in the morning from 6.45 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. to ensure Tatkal Tickets issue to genuine passengers. Agents would now been restricted on the Tatkal Tickets at the counters between 8.00 a.m. to 10.a.m.

New e-ticketing System: Development of a new e-ticketing application by IRCTC in coordination with CRIS. With this, it will be able to more than double the existing capacity and address the capacity issues of online demand of tickets.

Double decker express to Bangalore | Showpiece of Southern Railway | New Time Timetable 2012 - Double Decker Train

Twelve new express trains, including the Chennai Central-Bangalore AC Double Decker Express, frequency upgrades of some services and speeding up of 40 express trains are among the highlights of the new timetable launched by Southern Railway here on Friday.

Many of the new trains have been allotted time-slots that take effect from July 1 – some leading to revised timings for other trains – though their actual date of introduction is to be notified later.

The 13-coach double decker express (daily) connecting Chennai and Bangalore is the showpiece among the new services and is likely to have much higher carrying capacity that popular trains like the Shatabdi and Brindavan express.

According to a Railway official, though the exact carriage capacity of the double decker coaches would be firmed up only later, going by specifications set by the Research Design and Standards Organisation of the Indian Railways, a double decker train would have a seating capacity of 128 persons per coach (74 seats in the lower deck and 54 in the upper deck). This is approximately 70 per cent more than the seats on a coach of the Shatabdi (78) or the Brindavan Express (73).

Train No.22625 Chennai Central- Bangalore AC Double Decker Exp will leave here 7.25 a.m. and reach Bangalore at 1.30 p.m. while Train No.22626 will leave Bangalore at 2.40 p.m. and arrive at 8.45 p.m. The stoppages are Perambur (up direction only), Arakkonam, Katpadi, Ambur, Jolarpettai, Bangarapet, Krishnarajapuram and Bangalore Cantonment.

Consequent on the introduction of the double decker, Train No.12639 Chennai Central –Bangalore Brindavan Express will leave 45 minutes later (7.50 a.m. instead of 7.15 a.m.), while the return train to Chennai, Train No.12640, will leave Bangalore 40 minutes later (3.10 p.m. instead of 2.30 p.m.)

The new services include the weekly air-conditioned superfast Bikaner-Coimbatore and the Yesvantpur-Kochuveli trains. The dates would be introduced later.

Other newly introduced trains are the Shalimar-Chennai Central (launched from June 24) and soon-to-be-introduced Asansol-Chennai Central, Chennai Central-Puri weekly superfast express trains, Tiruchi-Tirunelveli (day-time) Inter City daily, Tirunelveli-Dadar weekly, Kacheguda-Madurai weekly, Tirupati-Mannargudi tr-weekly, the Villupuram-Mayiladuthurai passenger and six Villupuram-Katpadi passenger trains. The increase in frequency of services will apply to Chennai Central-Mangalore express (Train Nos. 12685/686) that has been upgraded to daily from six days a week, the Kochuveli-Bangalore express to tri-weekly from bi-weekly (Train Nos. 16316/315), Kanyakumari-Nizammuddin Thirukkural express to bi-weekly from weekly (12641/642) and Villupuram-Kharagpur express to bi-weekly from weekly (22604/603).

MEMU services

The new MEMU services are the Palakkad-Coimbatore-Erode daily train and the Thrissur-Ernakulam six-days-a-week train.

Four passenger specials in the Mannargudi-Tiruchi-Manamadurai-Thanjavur-Karaikudi sectors would become DEMU class with eight coaches powered by two driving power cars and six trailer cars with effect from July 1.

The ten trains that have been extended include the Dehradun-Chennai weekly express to Madurai, Dadar-Yesvantpur to Puducherry on three days of the week and to Tirunelveli on three other days, Tirupati-Madurai bi-weekly to Rameswaram, the Mangalore-Palakkas Inter City Express to Coimbatore, the Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram Parasuram Express to Nagercoil, Coimbatore-Erode MEMU to Salem, Velankanni-Nagore DEMU to Karaikal and the Bangalore-Salem passenger to Nagore.

Trains speeded up

Among the trains that have been speeded up are Kochuveli-Porbandar express, Rameswaram-Okha, Nizamuddin-Kanyakumari, Thiruvananthapuram-Korba, Mumbai CST-Kanyakumari, Mumbai CST-Chennai Central, Nagercoil-Gandhidham, Kacheguda-Chennai Egmore, Chennai Central-Mettupalayam and Chennai Central-Mangalore West Coast express.

The Chennai Central-Mangalore express (16041/042), Thiruvananthapuram-Mumbai CST (16332/331) and Puducherry-Mangalore weekly (16043/044) will be diverted via Coimbatore in September-October while the Chennai Egmore-Karaikkal express will be diverted via Mayiladuthurai from October 12.

The new announced trains include introduction of AC Double Decker Express train, Train No.22625/22626 Chennai Central–Bangalore City AC Double-Decker (Daily) Express (via Jolarpettai), Air Conditioned Express Train, Train No.22475/22476 Bikaner – Coimbatore (Weekly) Superfast AC Express (via Jodhpur, Ahmedabad, Konkan Railway, Mangalore Jn.) and Train No.16561/16562 Yesvantpur – Kochuveli (Weekly) AC Express (via Bangarapet, Erode, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam) and various other express trains and passenger trains.

SALIENT FEATURES OF WESTERN RAILWAY TIME TABLE

TO COME INTO FORCE FROM 1ST JULY 2012

100 long distance trains to be speeded up

WR will speed up 100 long distance trains from 1st July, 2012 by 5 minutes to 115 minutes which include about 52 trains originating/terminating or passing from Mumbai. The timings of 16 trains have been preponed by 5" or more o­n originating stations i.e. 16 trains will start 5 minutes or more early from their originating stations from 1st July, 2012. Similarly, 47 trains will now arrive 5 minutes or more early at their destination stations.

12908 Nizamuddin – Bandra (T) Maharashtra Sampark Kranti Express and 14707 Bikaner – Bandra (T) Ranakpur Express trains have been speeded up by 75 minutes while 12954 Nizamuddin – Mumbai Central August Kranti Rajdhani Express will be speeded up by 25 minutes (Details in Annex – III).

Train No.12908 Maharashtra Sampark Kranti Express will now arrive at 16.35 hrs i.e. 75 minutes before than its existing time while 12926 Paschim Express will reach Bandra (T) at 14.45 hrs i.e. 30 minutes before its existing time. 12954 Nizamuddin – Mumbai Central August Kranti Rajdhani Express will also reach Mumbai Central at 09.55 hrs i.e. 25 minutes earlier (Annex – II).

New Train Time Table India, Indian Railways New Time from 1^st July 2011 

The New time Table of All India Railway known as “TRAINS AT AGLANCE (TAG)” has come into effect from 1st July, 2011.  In addition to this All India Time table, all the 17 zonal Railways have also released their zonal railway time tables which too have come into effect from 1^st July, 2011. This Time Table includes the new class of trains which were announced in this year’s Railway Budget namely, Double Decker AC trains, Vivek Express, Kavi Guru Express and Rajya Rani Express.

The salient features of the All India Railway Time Table i.e. TAG are as under :

1.    Encouraged by the public response over the past few years all the user-friendly features of Trains at a Glance viz. how to read a table, route map, station index,  trains between important stations,  station code index, Train number index,  Train name index, has been retained.

2.    Five digit numbering scheme for train services has come into force from 20^th December, 2010. This has been necessitated as the numbers in four digit numbering scheme got exhausted as also to enable capture of all types of passenger train services viz.  Duronto, Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and other Mail/Express services, sub-urban, holiday specials, etc. on Indian Railways. The five-digit train numbering has been accordingly indicated in Trains at a Glance.

3.  Colour coding scheme adopted for various categories of trains: (a) Pink for Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi Express, Jan Shatabdi Express, Garib Rath Express and Duronto Express (b) Yellow for Double Decker services and other superfast trains (d) blue/white for other mail/Express trains.

4.  New category of services viz. Double Decker services, Rajya Rani services, Vivek Express,Kavi Guru Express have been included.

5.   Commercial information of passenger use and interest viz. advance reservation period, reservation through internet, refund rules and rail travel concessions have been suitably updated. New addition to the fare chart is the fare for AC and mixed type of Duronto services.

6.  Information regarding Vigilance organization, Public grievance machinery, disaster management and catering services have been incorporated.

7.   The Metro Railway, Kolkata has been added in the list of Zonal railways. The website addresses of all Zonal railways have been added this time.
