Northern Railways announces new superfast weekly express between Luckmow – Yeshwantpur (Bengaluru)

Northern Railways has announced to introduce a new pair of train services No. 22683/22864 Lucknow- Yesvanthpur(Bengaluru) Superfast Weekly Express from both directionsfrom 01.03.2014 as per the following programme:-

 

Hon’ble Minister for Railway will flag off the inaugural run of the special Train No. 02683 from Yesvanthpur to Lucknow at 01.00 p.m. o­n 01.03.2014(Saturday). This Special inaugural train will reach Lucknow station at 06.30 a.m. the third day (Monday).

 

Following its inaugural run, the regular services of the 22683/22864 Lucknow- Yesvanthpur(Bengaluru) Superfast Weekly Express will be as under:-

 

Commencing regular services from 06.03.2014, the 22684 Lucknow- Yesvanthpur(Bengaluru) Superfast Weekly Express will depart from Lucknowon every Thursday at 05.25 p.m. to reach Yevanthpur at 02.00 p.m. the third day(i.e. Saturday).

 

In the return direction, commencing regular services from 10.03.2014, the 22683 Yesvanthpur(Bengaluru)-Lucknow Superfast Weekly Express will depart from Yesvanthpur o­n every Monday at 11.40 p.m. to reach Lucknow at 06.55 p.m. the third day(i.e. Wednesday)

The 04504 Ludhiana-Saharsa (Bi-Weekly) Summer Special Express train will depart from Ludhiana at 10:25 a.m. from 27.05.2013 to 28.06.2013 (10 trips) on every Monday & Friday to reach Saharsa at 4:10 p.m. the next day.In the return direction, the 04503 Saharsa-Ambala Cantt. (Bi-Weekly) Summer Special Express train will depart from Saharsa at 08:05 p.m. from 28.05.2013 to 29.06.2013 (10 trips) on every Tuesday& Saturday to reach Ambala Cantt.at 11:30 p.m. the next day.

Consisting of twelve General Second Class coaches and two brake-cum-Luggage Vans, the 04504 Ludhiana-Saharsa Summer Special Express train will stop at Sirhind, Rajpura, Ambala Cantt., Jagadari, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur Cantt., Gonda, Mankapur, Basti, Khalilabad, Gorakhpur, Deoria Sadar, Sewan, Chhapra, Sonepur, Hajipur, Muzzafarpur, Samastipur, Ruseraghat, Hasanpur Road, Khagria and Mansi Stationstations. While its return service i.e. the 04503 Saharsa-Ambala Cantt Summer Special Express train will short terminate at Ambala Cantt station only.

New Delhi-Patna-New Delhi AC Superfast Express Special Train (nominated days)

The 04040 New Delhi-Patna AC Superfast Express Special train will depart from New Delhi at 02:35 p.m. on 30/5, 31/05, 02/06, 03/06, 05/06, 06/06, 08/06, 09/06, 11/06 and 12/06/13 (eight trips) to reach Patna at 05:00 a.m. the next day.In the return direction, the 04039 Patna-New Delhi AC Superfast Express Special train will depart from Patna at 12:15 p.m. on 31/5, 01/06, 03/06, 04/06, 06/06, 07/06, 09/06, 10/06, 12/06 and 13/06/13 (eight trips) to reach New Delhi at 04:00 a.m. the next day.

Consisting of one first AC, four A.C.2 Tier, seven A.C. 3 Tier coaches the 04040/04039 New Delhi-Patna-New Delhi AC Superfast Express Special Express train will stop at Ghaziabad, Chipiana Buzurg, Kanpur, Allahabad, Mughalsarai, Buxar, Ara and Danapur stations enroute in both directions.

Chandigarh-Varanasi-Chandigarh Express Special Train (Thrice a Week)

The 04506 Chandigarh-Varanasi Express Special train will depart from Chandigarh at 11:15 p.m. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday from 03.06.2103 to 29.06.2013(twelve trips) to reach Varanasi at 05:30 p.m. the next day.In the return direction, The 04505 Varanasi –ChandigarhExpress Special train will depart from Varanasi at 09:10p.m. on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday from 04.06.2103 to 30.06.2013(twelve trips) to reach Chandigarh at 02:30 p.m. the next day.

Consisting of nine Sleeper Class, seven General Second Class coaches and two brake-cum-luggage vans the 04506/04505 Chandigarh-Varanasi-Chandigarh Express Special train will stop at Ambala Cantt., Jagadhari, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow and Sultanpur stations enroute in both directions.

Introduction of new six days a week express train between Varanasi – Lucknow; Train no. 14219 – Varanasi – Lucknow, Train no. 14220 – Lucknow - Varanasi

For the convenience of rail passengers, Northern Railways has announced to introduce a new Express Train No. 14219/14220 to run six days a week except Sunday between Varanasi and Lucknow from 17.05.2013 as per the following programme:-

The 14219 Varanasi- Lucknow (Six Days A Week) Express train will depart from Varanasiat 05.00 a.m. (except Sunday) to reach Lucknowat 11.45 a.m. the same day.  In the return direction, the 14220 Lucknow- Varanasi (Six Days A Week) Express train will depart from Lucknow at 01.00 p.m. (except Sunday) to reach Varanasiat 07.45 p.m. the same day.

Consisting of o­ne A.C. Chai Car, Twelve General class and Two Disabled Friendly Second Class cum luggage van coaches, the 14219/14220 Varanasi- Lucknow- Varanasi (Six Days A Week) Express train will stop at  Bhadohi, Janghai, Pratapgarh, Amethi and Raebareli stations enroute in both the directions.

The new train will be flagged off from Lucknow o­n 16.05.2013 at 10.15 a.m. and reach Varanasiat 04.25 p.m. the same day.

Northern Railways to run Bi-Weekly summer special train between Delhi Sarai Rohilla – Darbhanga (28 Trips)

For the convenience of rail passengers during Summer season, Northern Railway has decided to run Summer Special train no. 04024 /04023 Delhi Sarai Rohilla– Darbhanga– Delhi Sarai Rohilla (Bi- Weekly) Express as per the  following programme:-

The 04024 Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Darbhanga (bi-weekly) Express Summer Special train will depart from Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 10.30 a.m. o­n every Monday & Friday from 23.05.2013 to 28.06.2013 (14 trips) to reach Darbhanga at 12.05 p.m. (noon) the next day.  In the return direction, the 04023 Darbhanga- Delhi Sarai Rohilla (bi-weekly) Express Summer Special train will depart from Darbhanga  at 3.00 p.m. o­n every Tuesday & Saturday from 14.05.2013 to 29.06.2013  (14 trips) to reach Delhi Sarai Rohilla  at 04.50 p.m. the next day.

CHANDIGARH- AMRITSAR Superfast Express Train to run on newly constructed route with revised timing from 19.4.2013

The Superfast Express Train No. 12241/12242 presently running between Chandigarh- Amritsarvia Morinda – Sirhind will be routed via New Morinda – Sanehwal – Ludhiana, the newly constructed rail line with revised timingsfrom 19.04.2013 as per the following schedule:-

With the opening of new rail line i.e. New Morinda – Sanehwal – Ludhiana the 12241 Chandigarh - Amritsar Superfast Express Train (Via New Morinda-Sanehwal) will depart from Chandigarh at 05.30 p.m. instead of 06.50 p.m. to reach Amritsar at 09.10 p.m. instead of 11.15 P.M. the same day. In the return direction, the 12242 Amritsar- Chandigarh Superfast Express Train (Via New Morinda-Sanehwal) will depart from Amritsar at 05.20 a.m. to reach Chandigarh at 09.05 a.m. instead of 09.45 a.m. the same day.

Chandigarh-New Delhi-Chandigarh Shatabdi Express (Non Stop) Train12046/12045 Flagged Off

Hon’ble Minister For Railways, Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal flagged off 12046/12045 Chandigarh-New Delhi-Chandigarh Shatabdi Express (Non Stop) Train from Chandigarh Railway Station on 14.01.2013.

 

The new 12046/12045 Chandigarh-New Delhi-Chandigarh Shatabdi Express (Non Stop) will run six days a week (except Sunday). Comprising of One Executive A.C. Chair Car & Nine A.C. Chair Car coaches, the 12046 Chandigarh-New Delhi Shatabdi Express will depart from Chandigarh at 11.40 a.m. to reach New Delhi at 3.00 p.m. the same day. In the return direction, the 12045 New Delhi- Chandigarh Shatabdi Express train will depart from New Delhi at 7.15 p.m. to reach Chandigarh at 10.35 p.m. the same day.

 

Two pairs of Shatabdi trains are already running between New Delhi and Kalka passing through Chandigarh, the 12005/06 and 12011/12 Shatabdi Expresses. There was a huge demand to introduce an exclusive service between Chandigarh and New Delhi at convenient timings from either end. This new service which is being introduced between Chandigarh and New Delhi as train No. 12045/46, meets with the aspirations of the travellers. This train is worked by state-of-the-art newly manufactured LHB coaches that have numerous passenger friendly features over the conventional coaches. These LHB coaches have a longer stainless steel body of 23.54m length, with higher seating capacity with better riding and safety features.

 

Chandigarh is part of the rail network of the Delhi-Ambala section, which was built in the years 1891-1893. Initially a part of the Delhi Division, it now lies in the jurisdiction of the re-constituted Ambala Division since 1987. As the State Capital of Haryana & Punjab and in itself a designated Union territory, Chandigarh is the veritable hub of major economic activities in the Northern region.It also houses the Punjab University and the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research. It also has Engineering, Architecture, Medical and Management Institutes, this in turn leading to rapid urbanization of the adjacent regions.

 

With the introduction of this first Shatabdi service between Chandigarh-New Delhi, the rail travel between these cities will not only be strengthened, Northern Railway will also renew its commitment to provide more comfortable and faster train service to rail passengers. The public available at the flagging off function were very happy.

 

Northern Railways extends run of Bi-Weekly Rajdhani Type Superfast Special Train between Mumbai Central – New Delhi

To clear extra rush of rail passengers during winter season, Railways have decided to extend the run of Bi-Weekly Rajdhani Type Superfast Puja/Winter holiday special train no. 09005/09006 Mumbai Central- New Delhi- Mumbai Central in both directions as per the following programme:-

 

The 09005 Mumbai Central- New Delhi Bi-Weekly Rajdhani Type Superfast Winter holiday special train will be extended from 16.12.2012 to 02.01.2013 (06 trips) from Mumbai Central on every Wednesday & Sunday.

 

In the return direction, the 09006 New Delhi- Mumbai Central Bi-Weekly Rajdhani Type Superfast Winter holiday special train will be extended from 17.12.2012 to 03.01.2013 (06 trips) from New Delhi on every Thursday & Monday.

 

The other features like route, timings, stoppages, composition etc. will remain as unchanged

Northern Railways annouces to run special trains during festival season including Chhat Puja

Northern Railway has announed to run a Tri- Weekly Festival special train no. 04504/04503 Chandigarh- Varanasi- Chandigarh Tri- Weekly special train as per the following programme:-

The 04504 Chandigarh- Varanasi Tri- Weekly special train will depart from Chandigarh on every Monday, Thursday & Saturday from 05.11.2012 to 01.12.2012 (12 trips) at 11.15 p.m. to reach Varanasi at 05.30 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, 04503 Varanasi- Chandigarh Tri- Weekly special train will depart from Varanasi on every Tuesday, Friday & Sunday from 06.11.2012 to 02.12.2012 (12 trips) at 09.10 p.m. to reach Chandigarh at 02.30 p.m. the next day.

Delhi Sarai Rohilla - Jaipur Double Decker Train - Train no. 12985/12986 flagged off

Railway Minister, Mukul Roy and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit flag off a double-decker, air-conditioned train from Delhi to Jaipur on Friday 24th August 2012. A beautifully decorated train left from at 17:35 hours from Delhi Sarai Rohilla and is scheduled to reach Jaipur at 22:05 hours. The train will run regularly August 25, 2012. Moreover, the Jaipur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla AC double decker train will leave from Jaipur at 6:00 hours to reach Delhi Sarai Rohilla station.

The train contains all chair cars and has the capacity of sitting 120 passengers in each coach. No of seats in each deck are:

Upper Deck: 50

Lower Deck: 48

On ends: 22

The departure time of this daily AC Double Decker train (no. 12986) from Delhi Sarai Rohilla is 5.35 P.M. and arrival time at Jaipur is 10.05 P.M. From Jaipur this train (no. 12985) will depart at 6.00 A.M. and arrive at Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 10.30 A.M. This AC Double Decker train will have two stops on its way namely Delhi Cantt. and Gurgaon Railway Station.

ADDITIONAL STOPPAGE AT GANDHI NAGAR JAIPUR TO DELHI SARAI ROHILLA- JAIPUR DOUBLE DECKER TRAIN

The 12986 Delhi Sarai Rohilla – Jaipur Double Deckertrain will reach at ‘Gandhi Nagar Jaipur’ station at 09.41 p.m. and in the return direction, the 12985 Jaipur- Delhi Sarai Rohilla Double Deckertrain will reach at ‘Gandhi Nagar Jaipur’ station at 06.10 a.m. with two minutes stoppage in both the directions.

Air Conditioned Double-Decker Train Delhi - Jaipur ready to roll

NEW DELHI: Those travelling to Jaipur from Delhi can look forward to a novel experience with the Railways ready with a double-decker, air-conditioned train on the route.

Railway minister Mukul Roy was scheduled to flag off the double-decker train service to the Pink City from Sarai Rohilla station in Delhi on Thursday but the launch was postponed due to the death of Congress leader and Cabinet minister Vilasro Deshmukh.

The train, which will be a daily service, is expected to cover the distance between the national capital and Jaipur in five hours. Railway officials said the train will leave Sarai Rohilla at 5.35 pm and reach Jaipur at 10.05 pm. The train will leave Jaipur at 5.55 am on its return journey.

The double-decker coach, being manufactured by the Kapurthala coach factory in Punjab, has a seating capacity of 120. Equipped with fully automatic doors, each coach has eight emergency windows and fire extinguishers near its door.

The coaches have been designed keeping both safety and passenger comfort in mind, a senior railway official said. Also, each coach will have a mini-pantry including fridge and microwave.

Railways got safety certification from the Commissioner of Railway Safety ( CRS) after meeting all requirements.

The operation of a double-decker train is not new for Railways. In 2010, former railway minister Mamata Banerjee had flagged off an AC double-decker service between Dhanbad and Howrah.

Double-decker services on Mumbai-Ahmedabad and Jaipur-Delhi routes were part of a slew of announcements in the railway budget 2011-12. But the services, the brainchild of Banerjee, failed to take off last year because of delay in manufacture of double-decker coaches and getting safety clearance.

The double-decker service between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is also expected to be launched this month.
