Southern Railways has announced to run special
trains to clear the extra rush of passengers during Onam Festival season.
1) Nagercoil – Mangalore Jn. – Nagercoil
Specials (via. Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Shoranur, Kannur): T.No.06304
Nagercoil – Mangalore Special will leave Nagercoil at 16.50 hrs. on 5.9.2011
and arrive Mangalore Jn. at 10.30 hrs. the next day. T.No.06303 Mangalore Jn. –
Nagercoil Special will leave Mangalore Jn. at 13.35 hrs. on 6.9.2011 and arrive
Nagercoil at 04.45 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 1
AC 2-tier, 2 AC 3-tier, 7 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2
luggage-cum-brake van coaches.The trains will stop at Eraniel, Kulitturai,
Neyyatinkara, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kayankulam, Chengannur, Tiruvalla,
Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrisur, Shoranur, Kuttipuram, Tirur,
Kozhikkode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod.
2) Coimbatore – Mangalore Central Day time
Superfast Special & Mangalore Central – Coimbatore Day time Special: T.No.06619
Coimbatore – Mangalore Central Superfast Special will leave Coimbatore at 06.20
hrs. on 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th & 12th September 2011 and arrive
Mangalore Central at 13.40 hrs. the same day. T.No.06620 Mangalore Central –
Coimbatore Special will leave Mangalore Central at 12.00 hrs. on 3rd, 5th, 7th,
9th, 11th & 13th September 2011 and arrive Coimbatore at 19.45
hrs. the same day.The composition of the trains will be 9 Second Sitting, 2
General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches.The trains will stop
at Palakkad, Ottapalam, Shoranur, Tirur, Kozhikkode, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyanur,
Kanhangad and Kasaragod.
Advance reservation for the above trains will
commence on 1.9.2011.
